I grew up surrounded by books, so it was little wonder that early on in life I decided I wanted to write them. Like the many authors I admire, I want to fill the world with stories that inspire and make people laugh and wonder.
When I am not writing, which unfortunately is a lot of the time, I am a primary school teacher, a job that I also love.
I grew up in Western Sydney and live there to this day.
I love bananas, chocolate (preferably together), the beach, board games, the TV show, ‘The Nanny’, and reading, of course.
I have a beagle named Oliver, who eats too much. The day is coming when I will write a story about him.
I have wonderful parents and one younger brother who often asks if any of the characters in my books are based on him. As if I’d ever tell!
Frequently and not-so-frequently asked questions
Are you pregnant?
No! My tummy just pokes out a bit. Some days more than others.
Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars?
Please don’t make me choose.
I’ve written a manuscript. Can you please read it?
Unfortunately, no. I do offer paid manuscript assessment services that you may be interested at looking into.
Tea or coffee?
What was your favourite book growing up?
The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. I used to look for this tree wherever I went. I still do!
Laptop or desktop?
Desktop. I’ve been recently converted. I feel so much more productive using a desktop.
Where do your ideas come from?
The little voice inside my head… Nah, my ideas come from everywhere – things I see or hear, the news, my family, history, daydreaming.
Thongs or heels?
Thongs. In case you’re not Australian, by thongs, I’m referring to foot footware!
One completely selfish wish?
An extra day of the week just for reading.
